One of the elements of a successful project management process is the ability to demonstrate that the various elements (e.g. scope management, project controls) are integrated. PMCC has worked with clients all over the world to insure that the corporate policies (e.g. time sheets, procurement, production reporting) are reflected within and integrated into project processes and procedures. This sounds much easier to do than it is! Given that many corporations are now utilizing ERP systems (e.g. Oracle, SAP, Peoplesoft) to help manage their business processes, the task of gathering information on a given project can require the identification of multiple data fields within multiple modules of the ERP software. PMCC can help your project staff develop functional specifications that can then be transmitted to the ERP personnel for use in developing integrated project reports.

Another area of consideration is integrating subcontractors and vendors. Best practice project teams and processes strive to make sure that the work of subcontractors and vendors is properly integrated with the rest of the deliverables. Within the heavy construction and offshore marine industries, the lack of the ability to effectively control and report on subcontractor scopes of work has led to a major exodus of contractors from the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) lump sum proposal market. It is not easy to get companies with different native languages, software systems, and corporate cultures to agree to the use of a common WBS or an integrated master schedule. And when you try to integrate major changes to the design after procurement and construction have begun, the stress on the project team and the project processes can be overwhelming. PMCC has experience in dealing with the integration issues on major international projects that we can use to help you get your project kicked off correctly.

PMCC can also perform audits of the existing project management system and provide recommendations on how to more effectively integrate the various processes and procedures. We also provide coaches and mentors to work with Sr. Management and project managers as projects are kicked off and PM processes and procedures are established to help ensure that it is done right the first time! (Never time to do it right but always time to do it over and over again is the major lament of project team members on hastily kicked off projects!)
